PRIMAR ENC Service

The service is secured using the IHO S63 Data Protection Scheme. All sales are made via an international network of distributors. End users of the service must have systems which support the IHO S57 & S63 standard or if permitted by the relevant nation, distributors can also supply ENC in SENC format. PRIMAR ENC CD and Permit Service
PRIMAR delivers a weekly ENC Base and Update CD service. The content of these CDs are encrypted and can only be viewed by compatible systems and with a valid permit file/license.

• Base CD
  The base CD set contains an encrypted copy of all ENCs available in the PRIMAR service (base and update files) at the time of production. Several CDs are required for full coverage. Base CD's are issued approximately four times pr year.
• Update CD
  The update CD contains an encrypted copy of all ENCs (base and update files) issued since the base CD set was produced. All files are provided on a single CD.
• Permit file
  To be able to decrypt the ENCs delivered in the PRIMAR ENC Service the user needs permit files, these files are delivered by e-mail and forwarded to the end user by the distributor.

PRIMAR Online Services
PRIMAR online service can be used in addition to or as a supplement to the PRIMAR ENC CD and Permit Service. The PRIMAR Online Service consists of:

• PRIMAR Online where PRIMAR Chart Catalogue is the client.
• ECDIS Online where the OEM system is the client.
• PRIMAR Online. PRIMAR Online is an internet-based service for maintaining a vessel's ENC portfolio. It gives users direct access to the PRIMAR ENC database, with delivery of ENCs and permit files issued to the user's ENC coverage, by using PRIMAR Chart Catalogue as a client. Contact your distributor for access to PRIMAR Online via PRIMAR Chart Catalogue.
• ECDIS Online. Remote Updating is an internet-based service for maintaining a vessel's ENC portfolio. It gives users direct access to the PRIMAR ENC database, with delivery of ENCs and permit files issued to the user's ENC coverage, by using functionality in their ECDIS/ECS to directly interface and download ENCs and ENC permit files from PRIMAR. The interface varies depending on the system used.

The manufacturer is responsible for any developments in their ECDIS/ECS. Manufacturers can contact PRIMAR to receive copies of relevant interface protocols. The protocols support ENC and permit file deliveries using http and e-mail communication.
