PRIMAR releases New Zealand ENCs

As part of our continued effort to bring to the mariner all available ENCs, PRIMAR is pleased to announce the release of ENCs from New Zealand as part of its world-wide coverage.

Currently, 11 ENCs have been released covering the Cook Strait, the approaches To Wellington, Marlborough Sounds, Wellington Harbour, Queen Charlotte Sound, Entrance To Wellington Harbour, Lambton Harbour, Evans Bay, Point Howard And Seaview Wharves, Tory Channel Entrance, Picton Harbour and Picton Wharves.  A full national set of ENCs is expected to be completed in 2010

PRIMAR

The PRIMAR ENC service is operated by the Norwegian Hydrographic Service through a regional ENC coordinator centre (RENC) regime and distributor agreements with countries and ENC suppliers.

Currently offering more than 8 127 ENCs, it works with an international network of authorised distributors. Regular updates are provided by standard CDs, the PRIMAR Chart Catalogue, PRIMAR Online remote updating and PRIMAR ECDIS Online™.

ENCs from PRIMAR meet IMO SOLAS chart carriage requirements when kept up-to-date and used in conjunction with a type-approved electronic chart display and information system (ECDIS) plus appropriate backup
